About Vendela
Hello! ¡Hola! Hej!
I am Vendela Vrensk, a Swedish kid lit and editorial illustrator. I’ve lived in Barcelona for almost ten years, but recently moved to Gijón in northen Spain. I am setting up my studio here while trying out the fantastic food and cider, taking walks in nature with the kids or looking for my lovely umbrella. It rains quite a bit here!
I want to make the world a prettier, more magical and just place, one illustration at a time! Representation and feminism lie close to my heart.
Another one of my favourite things is character design, catching emotions and relations in pixels and ink. I always try to tell a story when I draw.
Last year I published my first children’s book, the Catalan tale La iaia velleta i el suquet de peix de la Barceloneta, written by Ana Ayala and published by Editorial La Garba. It has been a very rewarding experience <3.
I am currently seeking representation.
